How does one deal with grief and loss?  Some have said that it cuts right through the heart.  Research has shown that loss impacts the emotional centre in our brain in such a way that we do feel "heart-broken".  Hence, it takes many of us ages to recover from real or imagined loss, and considered traumatic by its very definition.  Consider the Four Stages of Grief from an attachment perspective.
