Lynn is a Clinical Psychologist who started her educational pursuits in psychology at the University of Queensland, Australia, before completing her postgraduate clinical training at the National University of Singapore on full scholarship with the Ministry of Health Holdings. She spent the bulk of the last decade serving in public healthcare, training at a number of public hospitals before practicing at the Institute of Mental Health. This door led her to cross paths with individuals from diverse backgrounds in various contexts (i.e., community, outpatient, inpatient, and forensic settings) across the lifespan. It also offered her opportunities to co-develop and lead interventive initiatives with multi-disciplinary teams and community partners.
Warm, sensitive, and collaborative, Lynn has journeyed with clients struggling with mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties, loss, and transitions in both individual and group therapy contexts. Notably, she was also part of a multi-disciplinary team which specializes in dementia assessment and care as well as a team who had a special interest in psychological assessments and research. Drawing on her training and experience in different therapeutic approaches – Schema Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Mindfulness therapies, Lynn walks alongside her clients to make sense and find resolution to their difficulties. She has a keen interest in work surrounding emotions, self-compassion and trauma responses both at an individual/familial level, as well as from a wider societal angle.
An ardent learner and educator, Lynn’s interests also extend into research and education. She presently holds an associate faculty position lecturing undergraduate psychology courses at a local university. She has presented at overseas scientific conferences, conducted talks, groups and workshops to corporate organisations, healthcare institutions and the wider community. She has also offered clinical supervision to psychologists, psychology undergraduate and postgraduate students, and peer support specialists.
Lynn believes that wholehearted connection and healing are born out of safe, genuine, and emotionally attuned spaces that invites for deep self-reflection and understanding. Away from the clinic, you’ll often find her snuggled with a book, practicing yoga, exploring nature with her pet dog or volunteering, and advocating with environmental/conservation organisations.
