We are STILL HERE and fully ONLINE!

Can I still see a therapist at The Psychology Practice?

Yes, you can! BUT not face-to-face. Providing safe and accessible counselling and psychotherapy services has always been our prime aim - to create a secure space for our clients. We have to adapt and evolve in these unpredictable times. This would allow us to evaluate our ethical practice foundations and continue to be a safe harbour for our clients. Rest assured that we have organised our team of therapists and continue to be available for consultations via Telehealth Video Consultations.

Why do we have to move to video consults?

In line with PM Lee Hsien Loong's recent press conference, we have fully moved our face-to-face therapy appointments to video consults. We have awaited confirmation from the relevant authorities prior to adopting these changes fully. If you are already seeing one of our therapists, we understand that adjusting to new situations and change in general can be a disturbing thing, especially when you're used to the safe confines of our practice. We remain committed to supporting you, hence appreciate your patience with us and kind understanding having to face these unprecedented changes.

Can I be classified as an urgent or high-risk case so I can be seen face-to-face?

The decision to be classified as an urgent or high-risk case is a clinical or technical term that is defined by the professional you’re seeing. If you’re not considered urgent or high-risk, it does not mean that your concerns are not important. Due to the high-risk of infection, our therapists need to be ethically responsible and treat the coronavirus threat seriously. Hence, only individuals who are considered as presenting with imminent harm to self or others will be considered for face-to-face consult. However, this is on a case-by-case basis.

We know that many of our clients prefer face-to-face sessions, and video consults are not for everyone. However, this is for your safety and ours. It’s a tough decision but we think it’s the right one. We seek your cooperation to assist us to continue providing accessible therapy in a safe and ethical way for our practice and the wider community.
