Elizabeth is a psychotherapist and registered counsellor with ten years of clinical experience, including more than eight years of post-qualification practice, across Taiwan, the United Kingdom and Singapore. She works with adolescents, adults and couples from diverse cultural backgrounds, offering psychotherapy in English and Mandarin.

Elizabeth began her professional journey in Taiwan, working with children with special educational needs and their families in a psychological counselling centre. She later completed her Master of Counselling at the University of Edinburgh, where her training and experience of living abroad deepened her understanding of the emotional process of adapting to an unfamiliar culture.

In Singapore, Elizabeth spent three years in community services, supporting individuals and families while collaborating closely with clinics and community professionals. She subsequently moved into private clinical practice, working primarily with expatriates living in Singapore. These experiences shaped her understanding of how emotional difficulties may be influenced by early relationships, family systems, cultural expectations and the experience of building a life away from home.

Trained in and deeply influenced by psychodynamic and person-centred traditions, Elizabeth helps clients explore how earlier relationships, emotional experiences and deeply held patterns continue to shape their emotions, choices and ways of relating. According to each client’s needs and therapeutic goals, she also draws from her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, grief and loss, and expressive arts and play-based approaches. She continues to deepen her clinical training in attachment and complex trauma.

Elizabeth works with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, grief and major life transitions. Her workplace and onsite counselling experience has given her insight into the emotional demands of contemporary working life. With couples, she works with recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust difficulties and relationship transitions. She particularly enjoys supporting couples preparing for marriage or adjusting to the early years of married life, helping them understand their relational patterns, communicate more openly and build a stronger foundation together.

Having lived in Taiwan, the United Kingdom and Singapore, Elizabeth is attentive to how culture, language and family expectations shape a person’s inner world and relationships. She understands that some experiences can be difficult to translate across languages and cultural contexts. Clients may speak in English or Mandarin, or move naturally between both languages during sessions.

Elizabeth is warm, thoughtful and gently direct. She sees therapy as a process of opening doors to parts of the inner world that may have been overlooked, defended against or difficult to approach alone. Alongside recognising strengths and possibilities, she helps clients engage honestly with painful emotions, recurring patterns and difficult truths, creating greater freedom to relate and live differently. Outside her clinical work, Elizabeth recharges through Pilates, connecting with loved ones and the small rituals of everyday life that bring a sense of grounding and restoration.
